Stemcell
What's new?
Stemcell v2.0.x
Spectral Duck
This new processor module allows gentle ducking of frequencies present in some other signal. The obvious use-case is ducking the FX and Music stems around the Dialog.

You feed the Dialog signal to the side chain input of Stemcell, and adjust the sensitivity and maximum depth of the ducker. Attack and release times are also offered, as well as a HPF/LPF to set the range within which the effect operates.
Peak Limiters
The peak limiter in Stemcell is intended as a safety feature, offering transparent, uncoloured, digital “true peak” limiting, with a minimum of latency.
Gain reduction resulting from the limiter is displayed as a red bar growing from right to left.
The limiters are designed to be very clean and transparent, using a slightly different design for the LFE channel, which better suits the extremely low frequencies found there.
Continuously Variable Filters
We now have continuously variable filter frequency parameters, so you can pick much more precisely which frequencies are removed or bass-managed.
This means old v1 automation cannot be carried over into v2, so we’ve built Stemcell v2 as a new plugin, enabling you to run v1 and v2 concurrently in your legacy sessions.
Channel Gains
Redesigned Redirect
REDIR has been greatly improved, using a new filter design in a fixed -24dB/oct Linkiwtz-Riley arrangement. You now also have the ability to redirect HF from the LFE back into the mains as well as a couple of stages of gain on the redirected signals.
Resizable UI
Screen real-estate is always at a premium. Stemcell 2 now offers a resizable user interface. Have at it.
GUI redesign
Needless to say, Stemcell 1 left a lot of room for improvement in the battleground of user interface.
Stemcell 2 is completely redesigned, using all the modern niceties like tooltips and ergonomic controls.
New channel formats
Stemcell now offers pretty much every common format from Mono thru 9.1.6. So you can use the same processing on your surround stems as you do on your stereo down mixes.
AAX, VST and AU
Stemcell is now supported in VST3 and AU formats as well as AAX Native and Audiosuite.
Note that AAX DSP support has been removed. It will not be returning.
